HAPPY FATHER'S DAY !, June 17, 2012
This book is a beautiful picture book for all children of color, but will particularly touch the heart and soul of little black boys.
Taye Diggs makes the writing raw and truly understandable. With lines like these; "Look where your skin begins! It's brown like dirt. Does it hurt to wash off?" This book will go a long way in promoting Self-Pride, and enhancing Self-Esteem in children.
I love, love. love the illustrations. It's really nice to see children in books with truly darker skin tones that black boys can really relate too. A truly wonderful job, well done by Shane Evans.
I applaud Taye Diggs for taking the gripping subject of "Racism" and dealing with it head on. What a great book for fathers to read with there young ones.

JUST THE TWO OF US
Just The Two Of Us, is a charming enjoyable adaptation of Will Smith's song of the same title. Although the books lines are a direct steal from the lyrics of the song, the impact and emotional connection of Fatherhood still shine through.
With pages of love that quote lyrics like the following; "Always tell the truth, Say your prayers, Hold doors, Pull out chairs, Easy on the swears" This book offers a fascinating look at the joys of fatherhood through the eyes of Will Smith. The illustrations are thoughtful and complimentary, as they offer adventuresome images of the developing relationship between father and son.
This book is a perfect Fathers Day Gift for the Dad who loves to read to the little ones.

YOU CAN DO IT
Tony Dungy delivers a strong understanding of faith, and family support through this book about sibling encouragement.
The message of self-discovery through faith in God gives young people motivation and trust in themselves to achieve anything that they would like to pursue.
Only Coach Dungy can take an unlikely trip to the dentist and propel it to a career choice for his younger brother Lindel in this story. This championship coach, who became the First African American coach to win a Super Bowl, on February 4, 2007 delivers another astonishing feat. He offers children of color a window of opportunity to dream big, and deliver success.
Thank you Coach Dungy.
Fathers will enjoy reading this book to their little boys as they can incorporate a piece of African American history as it relates to the Author.

SALT IN HIS SHOES: Micheal Jordan In Pursuit Of A Dream
As mothers we all want our sons to grow up to be perfect fathers. By offering them the joy of books we can expand their horizons, and open up a whole new world of possibilities.
Who better to give us the tools that we need to do just that than the mother of Micheal Jordan, Mrs. Deloris Jordan.
Mrs. Jordan creates a story of motivation for all youngsters. She takes a distraught young Micheal and gives him the ammunition he needs to excel at basketball. When young Micheal ask, How can I grow taller? His mother exclaims the following; "We'll put salt in your shoes, and say a prayer every night. Before you know it, you'll be taller"
The result of this story is a delightfully charming book that's both encouraging, and incentive. Please everyone let's read to our young men, and prepare them to be the best "Fathers" ever.
